One Win Choice – Never Suspend Disbelief

Jump Start Records

One Win Choice plays politically charged hardcore punk similar to that of Strike Anywhere. Pairing relentless drumbeats with melodic guitars and passionate shout-singing, the twelve anthems on Never Suspend Disbelief deliver social criticism sprinkled with plenty of optimistic, fist-pumping rallying cries. “Bury Them” starts the album off strong, packing a powerful punch with the perfect balance of melody and fervor, and fitting in a big sing-along before finishing right after the one-and-a-half minute mark. Other album highlights include “One More Fight,” which is driven by a catchy riff; “I Deny,” which features a catchy and danceable chorus condemning apathy; and “All We Are,” which delivers a glorious finale with the words “It's asleep in our hearts/we must reawaken it.”

One Win Choice’s songs might not move older listeners with a deeper understanding of society’s ills, but they certainly have the potential to inspire younger punk fans to learn more about social and political issues and get involved in their communities.
